The client had started implementing a new ERP system for an existing business unit. The previous ERP system was run on an AS400. The new ERP system is cloud-based, allowing integration with APIs and a web based interface. The New ERP system could not calculate clients’ desired pricing model. The client’s pricing model is based on part classification, supplier price, and customer tier. Power Automate was used to interact with the web-based interface and complete required calculations.

The Client needed this solution before they could fully implement the ERP system. The client had a complex pricing structure involving multiple calculations and lookups. The pricing structure posed challenges inside of the ERP system due to the cost-based APIs. The client also wanted to be able to be notified of price decreases. This allowed us to ensure the maximum margins on reselling of components. This was a completely new process to be integrated into the new ERP system

The Solution was achieved by using several solutions. The first part is using Power Automate Cloud to Automate Power Automate Desktop running on a server. Power Automate Cloud also provided email reporting on if the workflow is completed. The Power Automate Desktop flow uses outlook to provide reporting on pricing and BOMs missing materials

The client successfully integrated and added all the supplier parts. The bot calculated the catalog price for all 4 customer tiers and all 4 product tiers for approximately 3500 parts. The process also calculated BOM pricing for approximately 1,500 BOMs using the individual parts that make up the BOM.
